As he walked to the park, he saw a group of children playing soccer. One of them was a boy named Tom, who was from Canada. Li Ming had met him before at school. He waved and said, “Hi, Tom! How are you?”

“Yes,” Li Ming said. “I’m meeting Lily there.”

“Can I join you?” Tom asked.

When they arrived at the park, Lily was already there, sitting on a bench. She was reading a book. When she saw them, she stood up and said, “Hi, Li Ming! Hi, Tom!”

They sat together under a big tree. Li Ming opened his notebook and said, “I want to practice my English. Can we talk in English today?”

Lily nodded. “That’s a great idea!”

They talked about their favorite subjects, their hobbies, and what they wanted to be when they grew up. Tom shared that he loved drawing and wanted to become an artist. Lily said she wanted to be a teacher. Li Ming said he wanted to be a scientist.

After a while, they played a game of tag. They laughed and ran around the park, enjoying the warm weather and the fresh air. Li Ming felt happy because he was using English in real life, not just in class.

At the end of the day, as they were walking home, Li Ming said, “Today was fun! I learned a lot and had a good time.”

Tom and Lily agreed. They promised to meet again soon.

From that day on, Li Ming felt more confident in his English. He realized that practicing with friends made learning much easier and more enjoyable.
