On the eve of the Spring Festival, my whole family gets together for a big dinner. We eat many kinds of traditional dishes, such as dumplings, fish, and rice cakes. The dinner is not only delicious, but also full of meaning. For example, eating fish means “having more than enough every year,” and eating rice cakes means “rising higher and higher.”
After dinner, we watch the Spring Festival Gala on TV. It is a special program that has been held every year. It includes singing, dancing, and comedy performances. We also set off fireworks and firecrackers to celebrate the new year. The bright lights and loud sounds make me feel very excited.
