One day, the king and queen invited all the fairies to a big party. They wanted to celebrate the birth of their little princess. The fairies brought gifts and magical powers for the baby.

But there was one fairy who was not invited. Her name was Maleficent. She was very angry because she wasn’t asked to come. So she made a terrible wish: “When the princess turns 16, she will prick her finger on a spinning wheel and fall into a deep sleep forever.”

The king and queen were worried. They tried to keep the princess away from any spinning wheels. But when she turned 16, she went into the castle and saw a spinning wheel. She touched it, and suddenly she fell asleep.

The whole kingdom was in trouble. The king and queen couldn’t wake her up. All the people in the castle also fell asleep. The forest became quiet, and no one could help.

Then, a kind fairy came with a magic wand. She said, “Only true love’s kiss can wake the princess.” But who would find her?

Many years passed. One day, a brave prince came to the castle. He saw the sleeping princess and fell in love with her. He kissed her gently on the lips.

At that moment, the princess opened her eyes! The whole kingdom woke up again. Everyone was happy and celebrated the prince and princess.

And they lived happily ever after.
