Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most traditional festivals in China. It is usually celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month. This year, I had a very special experience during this festival.
On the evening of the festival, my family gathered together in our home. We cooked a big dinner and shared many delicious foods, such as mooncakes, fruits, and tea. The moon was bright and round, which made everyone feel happy and warm. My parents told me stories about the legend of Chang’e, the moon goddess, and the story of Hou Yi shooting down the suns. These stories made me understand the cultural meaning behind the festival.
After dinner, we went to the park to watch the lanterns. There were many colorful lights hanging everywhere, and people were smiling and enjoying the atmosphere. I also joined in making a small lantern with my little brother. It was a fun activity that brought us closer.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is not only a time for family reunions but also a way to pass down Chinese culture. I really enjoyed this festival this year and hope to celebrate it again next year with my loved ones.
In short, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a meaningful and beautiful tradition that brings people together and reminds us of the importance of family and heritage.
