昔有盲人行于途，忽失其杖。盲者不知所措，遂呼同伴问曰：“吾失吾杖，汝可助我寻之？”同伴应声而至，问曰：“汝之杖何如？吾当助汝辨识。”盲者答曰：“吾之杖长且细，顶端有一环。”同伴乃遍地摸索，良久未得。

盲者不耐，责同伴曰：“汝何迟缓？速觅吾杖！”同伴沉思片刻，忽有所悟，遂问盲者：“汝适才失杖时，汝在何处站立？”盲者答曰：“吾立于桥上。”同伴又问：“汝失杖时，是否将杖倚于桥栏？”盲者恍然大悟，曰：“然也！吾失杖时正倚杖于桥栏，今杖必坠于河中矣。”

译文：

Once upon a time, there was a blind man walking on the road when he suddenly lost his cane. The blind man didn't know what to do and called out to his companion for help, saying, "I've lost my cane, can you help me find it?" His companion quickly arrived and asked, "What does your cane look like? I will help you identify it." The blind man replied, "My cane is long and thin, with a ring at the top." The companion then began searching everywhere but couldn't find it after a long time.

The blind man became impatient and scolded the companion, "Why are you so slow? Hurry up and find my cane!" The companion thought for a moment and suddenly realized something, so he asked the blind man, "Where were you standing when you lost the cane?" The blind man answered, "I was standing on the bridge." The companion then asked, "Did you lean the cane against the bridge railing when you lost it?" The blind man suddenly understood and said, "Yes! When I lost the cane, it was leaning against the bridge railing, so now the cane must have fallen into the river."
